Death of John Dawson

The venerable John Dawson, the oldest brother of Robert Charles Dawson, of this city, died at the home of his daughter-in-law, Mrs. John W Dawson at east Dayton, Tuscola county, last Thursday, September 27th, aged 92 years. Mr. Dawson was born in Scotland in October 1802. He lived in his native Heather until past middle life, when he came to America in Detroit about 46 years of age. About half of this. He resided in Detroit and Wayne. He lived in the city for a number of years period for the past few years he lived with his son the late John W Dawson, of east Dayton Tuscola county. The remains were brought to Pontiac Saturday morning. A funeral service was held at the Congregational Church, of which you've been a member, reverend B. F. Aldrich officiating, with burial by the side of his wife in the family lot at Oak Hill cemetery.
