Autoist Kills Man, Finds It Was His Father
Pontiac Victim on Way to Hospital Before Driver Learns His Identity
Pontiac, Jun 9 - John C, Mackle, 45 years old, was struck and killed by an automobile driven by his son late this afternoon on Rochester road near Orion road. Mackle and his 16 year old son, Hershel, were employed in construction work near here. At quitting time young mackle left to get his father's car intending to pick up his father and fellow workers. As the car neared the group of men it struck a rut and the boy lost control. All of the men except Mackel jumped to safety. He died on the ay to the hospital in Pontiac. It was not until the ambulance was on its way that the son learned he had struck his father, The Mackle live in West Branch.
