E. C. Poppleton Narrowly Escaped

E. C. Poppleton of Birmingham narrowly escaped death at his home in that village last week. He left his horse tied to a post and the animal became frightened by a falling of some poles. Poppleton grabbed the reins but was dragged a considerable distance, the waistband of his trousers catching on the step of the buggy. For a time Poppleton, the buggy and the horse's hoofs appeared to be attempting to occupy the same position all at once.
