A Close Call For His Eye

Rev. G. H. Hudson met with an accident last Monday morning which might have resulted in the loss of an eye. A rope which was used for staking out the horse belonging to Mr. Hudson had been tied to the limb of a tree for the little children to swing in and as he wasted to use the rope, he attempted to take it down. He succeeded however in untying the knots but one end became tangled and he gave it a quick jerk and the heavy iron swivel that was attached to the end of the rope flew back striking Mr. Hudson just below the eye inflicting a painful bruise.
