Dropped Dead at a Funeral
Detroit December 22nd, While assisting an undertaker to carry out the corpse of his nephew to a hearse, Robert J Haggerty, a cold dealer in this city, staggered forward just as he reached the gate and dropped to the sidewalk dead. The coffin fell on top of him. When a dead man had been taken into the house the undertaker picked up the coffin, put it into the hearse and the funeral proceeded as if nothing happened. Mr. Haggerty's death is an attributed to apoplexy.
