In The Pond

One day last week a young man of this village went to Gillett's mill pond with a wagon load of barrels, which he intended to fill with water. Backing the wagon some ways into the pond, he stepped upon the end of the wagon bottom, when the boards tipped up precipitating himself backward into the pond, whole the barreld came rolling after him. To Add to the young man's discomfiture, the horses started off leaving him floundering among the barrels. He succeeded however in reaching land soon, when he made everything right.
