Fall Is Fatal To Alfred C. Waters

Sadness came suddenly to one of Clarkston's homes last week when death claimed Alfred C. Waters after a 12 foot fall while at his work on Saturday morning. Mr. Waters as born in Holly Jul 6, 1910, the son of Cassius B. and Eva May French Waters. He attended the Holly school and the Ferris Institute. In 1934 he married Miriam E. Dewey in Lansing. They came to Clarkston from Detroit five years ago. Since last fall he had been employed as office manager at the Kimball Brothers store in Pontiac. He was a member of the Clarkston Methodist Church, Phi Sigma Chi fraternity, the Clarkston Dancing Club and the Bowling Club. For about two years he was scout master of the Clarkston Boy Scout Troop and as such he took an active part in all of the salvage drives to help the war effort. When the weather permitted there was nothing he enjoyed more than a game of golf. "Al" as he was known to most everyone in Clarkston, had a happy and generous disposition which won for him a large circle of friends. Word of his death on Saturday came as a shock to the whole community. Surviving are his widow; two sons, John Robert, age 4, and William, 2 months; his parents of Holly and 3 sisters, Mrs. Charles Going of Akron Ohio, Mrs. Merrill Branch of Miami. Fla, and Mrs. John Kerkey, of Flint. The funeral service was held at Ogden-Kennedy Funeral Home on Monday afternoon with the Rev. Walter C. B. Saxman and Mrs. Waters' uncle, the Rev. LeRoy Dewey of Hillsdale, Mich. officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery.
