Waives Examination in Knife Assautl

Steven Casey, 40, 43 Arden street, today waived examination before Judge Maurice E. Finnegan on a charge of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than the crime of murder to Louis Simmons. 28, of the Crystal Beach Trailer camp. He was returned to jail, $2,500 bond not furnished. He will be arraigned in circuit court Monday. Casey was arrested at 6:45 today by patrolman Harry Nye of Pontiac police, who reported he sa Casey using a long bladed knife on Simmons at Montcalm and Edison streets. They were in a car, Nye reports. Simmons was rushed to Pontiac General Hospital, where he was treated for several cuts on his legs. He was later released, but is reportedly unable to walk.
