Husband in Prison

Because her husband is doing time behind bars of Jackson prison, Mrs. Hazel C. Long of Holly township, had no difficulty this morning in obtaining a divorce from JOhn H. Long who, is as testified, ahs twice violated his parole and had been returned to prison. His term does not expire until next November. Mrs. Long, whose former name as Green, was given custody of her two young children and $3 a week for support of each after Nov. 1, 1919, when Long is released from prison. She is making her home with her parents, who is said have supported her during all her married life. Long is not to remarry for two years. Long was charged with numerous acts of extreme cruelty. As an instance of his temper. Mrs. long told how her husband hitched up their horse then shot it dead because he was provoked. Witnesses for Mrs. Long were Loma Lamb and Edwin Green. Attorney C. E. Miner appeared for the ife.
