Attempted Robbery In Pontiac
Saturday night, about twelve o’clock a quartet of Pontiacers visited a house of questionable virtue in the second ward, and being refused admittance broke in the door. They were destined, however, to meet with a hot reception, for the leader had hardly crossed the threshold before he was treated to a dose of cold lead from a revolver of too small calibre to do much injury. One-ball struck the would-be visitor in the head, but plowed around his thick skull and another was planted in a more tender spot. A physician attended and Ihe peppered, individual is around just the same as if nothing had happened. When the bombardment commenced the three worthies outside had pressing business in another direction and struck a Maud S. gait for sweet home. The woman in the ease is reported assaying chat she has another revolver of larger calibre, but in her haste took the first one that she came to, or the citizen who got off so easily might have been fatally punctured. So far this week the matter has been town talk, and the male actors in the farce feel just like finding a diminutive hole, crawling in, and pulling, the hole in after them. No-arrests.
