He was one of the first land owners of Oakland County, Owning land in Oakland, and Addison townships, on Jun 9, 1830 he purchased two parcels of land both in Oakland Township, first was 400 acres, it was section 22, the SW  1/4, E 1/2 SW 1/4, W 1/2 NE 1/4 and the E 1/2 NW 1/4, the second purchas was in section 26, for 80 acres, the W 1/2 NW 1/4. The next purchase was in section 10 of Oakland Twp., for 80 acres, the E 1/2 SE 1/4 on Jun 22, 1833, next purchase was on Apr 29, 1835 in  section 7 of Oakland Twp., for 40 acres and was the SE 1/4 SE 1/4, on Oct 21, 1835, he purchased 80 acres in section 23 of Oakland Twp.,the W 1/2 NE 1/4.  On Dec 17, 1835 he purchased 40 acres in section 24 of Oakland Twp., SW 1/4 SW 1/4. On Apr 15, 1836 he purchased 40 acres in section 34 of Oakland Twp., Ne 1/4 NW 1/4. Also on that same day he purchased 40 acres in section 27 of Oakland Twp., SW 1/4 SW 1/4.  OPn April 20, 1836 he purchassed in section 14, 40 acres, the SE 1/4 SE 1/4, and the last entry was in Addison Twp., section 31 for 39.77 acres, NW 1/4 NW 1/4.
