Aaron Ingersoll, the father of Mrs. D. H. Calvert, an old and mush respected resident, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Hicks, at Rose Center, Friday, Dec 28, at the age of 78 years. Mr. Ingersoll was born in the state of New York, May 29, 1816, came with his parents to Michigan and Farmington in 1829. In 1853 he moved to Rose, where he lived until his death. His life companion died two years ago. The interval since her death he spent visiting his children, five of whom survive him; Charles Ingersoll, of Holly; George Ingersoll, of Rose; Mrs. John Thompson, of Springfield; Mrs.D. H. Calvert, of Pontiac; and Mrs. Charles Hicks, of Rose Center. For many years he had been a member of Holly Lodge F. & A. M., under whose auspices the obsequies were attended from the town hall, in Rose Center, Monday, afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev Mr. Bates, of Holly, officiated in a preliminary serve, with interment in the family lot by the side of his wife and mother. He was an honorable, upright citizen, faithful to duty and obligation. Plans were arranged for a reunion at the John Thompson home in Springfield on christmas. In the death of the father the important link in the chain of affection dropped out, turning the anticipated episode of pleasure into an event of sadness and mourning.
