Negro Was Victim of White Plague—Was Single.
Henry Powell, aged 45, colored, died this morning at 3:30 at the home of Eli Attie, 22 Perry street, after a long illness of tuberculosis. Powell was a single man and was born in Canada, April 16, 1861. He had been employed in Pontiac as a day laborer. Two sisters survive: Mrs. Allie Johnson, of Branch street, this city, and Mrs. Harriett [Bell], of Amherstburg, Ont. The funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
