Death Removes Prominent Business man of Ortonville. The death of Albert J. Auten, a prominent and lifetime resident of Ortonville and vicinity, occurred at his home in that village, early Tuesday Morning. He had been sick about three weeks, complications following an attack of influenza. Mr. Auten was born in Brandon Township. Fr many years he lived on the old Auten homestead four miles east of Ortonville, but or the past 15 years had resided in the village where he was engaged in the coal and lumber business. He had held several township offices. The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. kate Auten; three sons, Carl and Albert Jr., of Ortonville, and Basil, of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Wilda Martin, f Rochester, and Miss Thelma, of Detroit; also a sister, Mrs. Blanche Sherwood, of Ortonville, and a brother, Oscar, of Kinde. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 from the late home, under auspices of the Masonic lodge of Ortonville, of which Mr. Auten was a member. Burial was in Ortonville Cemetery.
