Lews C. Shetler, 70 years old, a resident of Ortonville the greater part of his life, died Saturday, Jun 30, at Goodrich Hospital, where he had been about a week suffering from a ruptured appendix. He had been in poor health for about two years with heart trouble. Mr. Shetler, son of Charles and Oropha Shetler, was born in Atlas Township, Lapeer County. In 1884 he married Cira Truax, and in 1909 became the husband of Laura Ward, of Thomas, who survives him. He also leaves a son, Melvin, of flint, five grandchildren, a niece and nephew. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 from the home. Mr. Shetler was for many years a member of the Ortonville Methodist church.
