Notes
Daniel purchased land in section 10 of Waterford Township, the E 1/2 of the SW 1/4 and the SE 1/4, from Thomas Drake. Daniel and his son-in-law, Thomas Whitfield, build a dam, in 1835, across the river, where it crosses Hatchery Rd, just south of the village of Drayton Plains. In 1836 they built a mill with three run of stones. In 1839 they build the Drayton Hotel, which was on the south side of Dixie Hwy, across from Sashabaw Rd. The Mill was in ruins by 1912, not sure when it was torn down, the hotel was gone by 1940.
