Notes
After he came to the US from England, he settled in Michigan with the family of his wife. He owned and operated a small store in what would become the village of Drayton Plains, on the corner of Hatchery Rd. and Dixie Hwy. In 1853 he was living in Waukegan, Lake county, Illinois, and in that year he purchased a brewery from Scoffin and Green, he renamed it Beasley Brewing Co.
