He was one the first settlers in the village of Clintonville, Oakland County, Michigan. He build the dams on the south end of Pond Lake, now Lake Oakland, and built a grist mill there. He sold them to John Osmun in 1836. By 1850 he was living in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan, then by 1860 was living in Saginaw, Saginaw County, Michigan, at one time running a boarding house in Saginaw. He and his second wife are buried in Saginaw, hi first wife is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Pontiac, Oakland County. In April 1839 Samuel Munson had some of his property taken by the sheriff of Oakland County, in the village of Pontiac, lots11,16 and 17 in block 6, and out lot 17, they went for public sale on Apr 16, 1839.
