He was one of the first land owners of Oakland County, making three purchases, first, purchased on May 13, 1822, Troy township, section 4, E 1/2 NE 1/4, 104.91 acres, stating that he was a residence of Ontaio County, New York, second purchased on Jul 11, 1831, in section 36 of Avon township, SW 1/4 and W 1/2 SE 1/4, the third purchased on Sep 26, 1831, Troy township, section 4, the E 1/2 NE 1/4.
