She left her husband, Henry Baker, in July 1873, He posted a notice in The Rochester Weekly Era on July 24, 1873 telling people not to trust her, and that he was not responsible for her future debts. She died a few months later of Typhoid Fever. A short time later her husband moved to Texas, and remarried there in 1884.
